Biography

Romanian-born American writer, professor, and Holocaust survivor who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. His memoir Night, recounting his experiences in Auschwitz and Buchenwald, is one of the most important works of Holocaust literature. He wrote over sixty books and spent his life bearing witness and advocating for victims of oppression worldwide.
